It equips students with a solid knowledge of Accounting and Performance Management as tools to analyze and solve complex business problems.
Moreover, it provides them with a general understanding of business operations and the interpersonal skills necessary to become successful and responsible business leaders. This MSc is organized as a full-time course in Toulouse and as a part-time (“Alternance”) course in Paris.
This MSc program prepares students for a successful career in general management or a more specialized career, for example as a Business Controller, Financial Analyst or Internal Auditor.
The Master of Science in Controlling and Risk Management provides students with state-of-the-art skills to use accounting and financial information and Business Intelligence to make the right business decisions and to act as effective business partners.
The course program balances academic theory and corporate practice. Its structure allows students to complement their Master’s degree with the CMA® certification, a global benchmark for management accountants and financial professionals.
The MSc program in Toulouse is taught entirely in English, the MSc in Paris is taught in English and French. Specific courses help students to acquire valuable leadership and communication skills as well as intercultural competences.
This program consists of five learning experiences rigorously designed to develop your managerial and operational skills in your field of professional expertise.

1. Strategic Performance Management
Objective: The unit introduces key concepts of Costing and Profitability Analysis. It enables students to successfully apply these concepts to solve real-life business problems.
2. Strategic Performance Management
Objective: The unit deals with the use of financial information for strategic decision-making and performance management, as well as with the development of forecasts and their use in corporate planning.
3. Decision Analysis, Risk Management and Internal Audit
Objective: The course introduces students to theories of managerial decision-making and discusses their application in practice as well as various concepts to manage risks and to conduct internal audits.
4. Corporate Finance and Investment Decisions
Objective: The course unit provides insights into current investment valuation methods and enables students to solve problems in corporate finance and liquidity management.
5. Corporate Governance, Reporting and Sustainability
Objective: The course analyses determinants and effects of international corporate governance and reporting practices and provides an introduction to professional and business ethics.
6. Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
Objective: The course unit provides a conceptual and practical approach to handling the latest developments at the intersection of accounting, digital technology systems, such as ERP programs, and data analysis software.
7. International Perspectives on Financial Accounting
Objective: The course unit provides students with detailed knowledge on the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and helps them to deal with typical accounting problems of multinational companies.
8. Research Methods in Accounting
Objective: The course unit gives an overview of research methods in accounting and introduces students to academic writing.
Soft Skills Certificate

The Career Starter is a support center that helps students define and develop their career project. Through several lectures, workshops, individual tests and coaching sessions, a specialist will support each student from their first questions to looking for the right internship or job.
Coaching: we support you in your reflection on your skills, strengths and areas for improvement. Through personality tests and individual coaching, we link this self-knowledge to your ambitions and career choices.
Personal Branding: you will participate in workshops to build your CV and e-portfolio to best highlight your experiences and skills for your future employers.

Each student in this MSc program is required to write a dissertation which addresses a current issue in management from an academic or professional perspective in his field of expertise.
The student thus contributes to the study, analysis, formalization and abstraction of the identified problem.
In-company Work experience
Students may carry out an internship in the company of their choice for a period of 3 to 6 months. This internship is not mandatory for the validation of the diploma but allows students to obtain 10 additional ECTS credits.
This Master of Science allows students to have a work contract during their studies at TBS:

Students with a for 3-year Bachelor Degree or equivalent (180 ECTS). TBS PREPARATORY PROGRAM builds up business and leadership skills in order to help international management students enroll successfully in the TBS Master of Science program of their choice.
