The environment and operating methods of companies are changing continuously, new entrepreneurial players are challenging existing markets by developing innovative offers, and the challenges associated with the internationalisation of markets are constantly increasing. Thus, regardless of their age, size or geographical coverage, whether they are start-ups or established companies, today all companies must demonstrate agility and innovation.
In this context, the Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation department enables students to understand, think and lead change in their companies. They teach them how to create, seize and develop innovative opportunities in new or existing companies. Thanks to a constant balance between theory and practice, and based on strong links with their ecosystem, they enable all students to develop entrepreneurial skills that will be useful to them regardless of their career choice.
Faced with current challenges, the Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department offers various complementary approaches to develop a global and complex way of thinking. The department is involved at several levels in courses on the themes of strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation and international strategy in the Bachelor, Grande Ecole, Master’s and Executive Education programs and on various group campuses. These courses are intended for students wishing to work in SMEs, support structures or consulting firms, to move towards the management of profit centres within large companies, or to create companies.
In the Bachelor’s degree program, three courses – “International Business” and “Innovation Management“on the Toulouse campus, “Entrepreneurship” on the Barcelona campus – and a module on “International Business Development” are offered to students in their 3rd year.
In the Master in Management Program, from their first year, students follow a module “Introduction to International Strategy“. They participate in the “SEMIS” Entrepreneurial Initiation Seminar, where they are coached for a week to experiment with proven methods (creativity, design, prototyping, etc.) in order to generate concrete and innovative proposals linked to the school’s values. They can also be supported on their business creation by teachers through the Think & Create “Innovative Entrepreneur” Workshops.
In the second year, a strategy course allows them to understand the fundamentals of the field (tools, methods, techniques) through theory and application to real case studies. The department also offers two business pre-orientation courses: “Entrepreneur” and “Practical Aspects of International Business“. In addition, several opening semesters are offered in Toulouse and Barcelona. Finally, during their M1 year, students participate in the ARTEMIS multi-campus business game, which integrates a diversity of issues including CSR and SD.
In the third year, the MSc “Entrepreneurship and Business Development“, “Strategy and Consulting” in Toulouse, and “International Business” in Toulouse and Barcelona, and “International Strategic Management” in Toulouse and Paris complete the offer. All students are also put into practical situations through the SESAME seminar (Seminar of Higher Studies Applied to Management) during which they work with companies on development isues, using agile methods.
In addition, the department offers a certified path “consulting professions” in partnership with Cap Gemini, CGI Business Consulting, PWC, Wavestone and Sopra Steria. This path takes place through the three years of the curriculum.
Finally, the department is also involved in several Specialized Masters and Masters of Science and manages the “Space Business &Applications" program in the Aerospace MBA.
The department’s professors also work closely with the Business Starter teams, which offer a range of extracurricular activities related to entrepreneurship. In particular, they are involved in supporting entrepreneurs incubated within TBSeeds and participate in the activities of the entrepreneurship chair.
The department relies on 19 resident professors and a network of professional partners. These professors are members of the Entrepreneurship and Strategy Research Laboratory. They actively participate in academic associations and international conferences, and publish in leading national and international academic journals.
